The China Maritime Institute (CMI), a non-profit Taiwanese organization, was established on July 11, 1962 by Professor Kuang Wang and other senior maritime practitioners.  The institute has clear purposes to support the maritime industry by

Developing maritime businesses,
Researching maritime technology,
Advancing maritime knowledge, and
Promoting marine construction.

The current chairman is Professor Chin-Shan Lu. The Institute provides superior education, training, research, and consultancy; organizes conferences, and publishes journals to support maritime communities and government。
